Abstract     The introduction represents the history of the degreegranted educational system of dental medicine at the University of Zagreb. It emphasizes that the Croatian-Slovenian relationship in that field of medicine existed for decades concerning both, the professional co-operation and commercial exchange as well. The investigation was made to get a representative number of students born in Slovenia and graduated at the Zagreb School of Dental Medicine. Furthermore, there is a list of Slovene postgraduate students who got their master's degree at the Zagreb School of Dental Medicine, as well as, the summaries of their theses. The data used in this study were available in the Student Section, Personnel Office, Archives and Library of the Zagreb School of Dental Medicine and the University of Zagreb. They were processed using descriptive and adequate statistical methods. The Odonthology Department of the Zagreb Medical School was established in 1948, while the School of Dental Medicine became an independent institution in 1962. In the period from 1948-1955 3908 students graduated at this School, among them fifty-two (52) students born in Slvovenia, what is 1.33% of all graduated students. Four postgraduates of Slovene origin got their master's degree in Zagreb, two of them wrote their thesis in Slovene language. Five teachers at the Zagreb School of Dental Medicine were born in Slovenia. They are: Oto Tajhner and Vladimir Tešar, prosthodontists Vidko Rudež, anatomist and radiologist, Zvonko Poje, orthodontist and Pavel Kobler, oral surgeon. Each of them contributed to the success of the educational system of dental medicine in Croatia and upbringing of new generations.
