Abstract		Acquired cystic disease of the kidney is common in patients with chronic renal failure. The authors present prevalence and pathogenesis of the disease, which is not of a great clinical importance unless accompanied by its complications, especially malignant transformation. The incidence of renal cell carcinoma, which usually remains asymptomatic, is high. Ultrasound is screening method of choice for detecting acquired cystic disease of the kidney and possible malignant alterations of the kidneys.
Summary		Pridobljena cistična bolezen ledvic je pogosta pri bolnikih s kronično ledvično odpovedjo. Opisana je prevalenca in patogeneza. Bolezen nima večjega kliničnega pomena, razen če so pridruženi zapleti, med njimi predvsem možna maligna transformacija. Ledvični karcinom ima visoko pojavnost in je večinoma dlje časa asimptomatski. Ultrazvočni pregled je presejalna metoda izbire za odkrivanje bolnikov s pridobljeno cistično boleznijo ledvic in za odkrivanje morebitnih tumorskih sprememb ledvic.
