Abstract		For traffic safety, alcohol-intoxicated drivers represent one of the biggest problems. The author suggests alcoholics should be identified among alcohol intoxicated drivers and directed to the treatment of alcoholism. As, alcoholics, they are unable to drive motor vehicles. However, the existent practice does not discriminate among intoxicated drivers and is inefficient as far as alcoholics are concerned; the fine and temporary seizure of driving licence do not turn them away from drunken driving. The findings of alcohology should be taken into account in corrections of legal regulations and their use in practice.
