Abstract		Diabetes is a state of chronic hyperglycemia occurring due to the lack of insulin or to the resistance against its action. The aims of the treatment of diabetes involve the elimination of symptoms, the prevention of acute complications, the prevention of chronic organic damage, the decrease of mortality and the improvement of the quality of life.
