| Abstract | Microbial transformations of 1-thienyl-1-one-3-(2'-methylcyclohex-1'-ene)propane and 1-phenyl-1-one-3-(2'-methylcyclohex-1'-ene)propane with Mycobacterium smegmatis cells immobilized on polyacrylamide and on agar-agar yielding 1-thienyl-1-one-3-(2'-methylcyclohex-1'-ene-3'-one)propane and 1-phenyl-1-one-3-(2'-methylcyclohex-1'-ene-3'-one)propane were studied. After immobilization, all the enzyme activities required for the transformation were observed. Immobilized cells were active over longer period in comparison with free intact cells, and better yields were also obtained. | |
