Abstract | A roman dagger, inserted in a sheath, was found in Ljubljanica river. The find was examined by X-ray and neutron radiography as complementary NDE techniques. NR was found useful in the detection of the thin waterlogged wood plates inserted in the sheath and helped in the determination of their function. ED XRF was used for local determination of elemental composition of mental and enameled structures of the sheath. | |
