Abstract     Crime scene or location examination is an investigative action of preliminary procedures ordered only if a criminal act is suspected. The examination is carried out according to the provisions of the valid Law on Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Slovenia. The quality and expertise of the work performed by doctors in examination groups in Slovenia, in our opinion, does not reach the standards of developed European countries. The examination groups as a whole also frequently fail to reach these standards, ecept in cases of suspected serious crimes (i.e. murder).
