Abstract | The most common cause of cardiopulmonary arrest in children is respiratory failure. Half of children who need cardiopulmonary resuscitation are infants under one year of age. In the article the author describes the most important anatomical and physiological characteristics of respiratory system in small children. These put a small child with respiratory disease at high risk for respiratory arrest. | |
