Abstract     A new test - foot stamping on the spot-was developed. Therefore the purpose of this study is to establish some characteristics of the test and to obtain parameters that would explain the test. A sample of 45 students of the Faculty of Sport, Ljubljana were measured. The testees performed a 30 seconds lasting foot stamping with the highest frequency possible. The test was repeated after two days. On the basis of the force of groud reaction the following parametres were calculated: maximum and minimum frequency of the test and mean frequencies in 10th, 20th, and 30th second of the test. Single parameters were calculated on the basis of differently smoothed frequencies of stamping. The results have shown that higher maximum frequencies at higher fatigue were achieved during the second measurement, that the lenght of the smoothing interval has significant effect on the results, and that the decrease of frequency during the test is almost linear. Thus it can be concluded that the test is very sensitive to the conditions in which it is being carried out, that longer smoothing intervals are more adequate and finaly that it would be reasonable to shorten the test to 20 seconds.
