Abstract     Movement, muscle tone and posture are discussed. There is a close relationship between them. Movement begins and ends in posture and posture is tonus. Paralysis, ataxia and rigidity can be result of the lesions of different parts of central nervous system. There is a relationship between muscle tone change and movement pathology. Posture is often affected as well. The discussion is about lesions of the central nervous system accompanied by the movement pathology, such as paralysis, ataxia, disorders of posture and muscle tone, and also spasticity, specific type of the hypertonia. Muscular hypotonia caused by the cerebellar lesion and rigidity, the commonest example of muscular hypertonia due to an extrapyramidal lesion, are also presented.
