Abstract     Hormonal treatment of the advanced prostate cancer is PRIMARY, though endocrine treatment does not cure of disease. Treatment intention is to lower the serum androgens and to inhibit the target cell receptors to which the androgens bind. Objective response is obtained in aproximately 5096 white subjective is in 80-90%. Hormonal treatment has its side effects which can be anticipated but not completely prevented. Prognostic factors and disease simptomatology are guidelines for an early or postponed treatment. The chosen treatment is, total androgen blocade, achived by chemical or surgical castration, combined with pure antiandrogens. Most of our patients had advanced prostate cancer. Their average age was 71 and this was also the main decision for hormonal treatment with surgical castration and antiandrogens at our department.
