Abstract		This is an attempt to describe the first steps of clinical application of genetics in Slovenia. Like in other countries it depends on the given medical organization and technological possibilities which are growing very fast in this field. Therefore the first attempts were done in the early thirties by anthropologists, and later in the forties the first genetic counselling in pediatrics was practised.
Summary		Poskus opisa prvih korakov klinične uporabe genetike v Sloveniji. Podono kot v drugih deželah je to odvisno od organizacijskih oblik zdravstva in tehnoloških možnosti, ki v zadnjih desetletjih na tem področju izredno hitro napredujejo. Tako najdemo prve poizkuse v zgodnjih tridesetih letih s strani antroplogov. Kasneje, v štiridesetih letih, se je na pediatriji v praksi pojavilo tudi že genetsko svetovanje.
