Abstract     FES assisted gait of paraplegic subjects is inferior compared to a healthy subject. The biomechanical structure is the same as in normal, however the mode of walking differs significantly because of the reduced number of activated muscles and primitive control. The crutch assisted paraplegic subject is utilizing a four-point gait. Such gait is considered statically stable if the center of gravity (COG) projection on the ground (PCOG) is inside the supporting area. In this paper the relationship between PCOG and the supporting area for two different paraplegic subjects is discussed. Results show that both are using statically stable gait but the actual COG trajectories differ significantly.
