Abstract | A novel approach to determine the motion of the human body is presented. The procedure utilises multiple markers attached to the body segments whose movements are measured by an optical system of TV cameras. We developed a mathematical apparatus that treats the body as a deformable (non-rigid) mechanism. The scope is to minimise the inaccuracies that result from the distortion of the soft tissues during the motion. | |
