Abstract     A qualitative model of the elevation of the human arm in the frontal plane is reported. A mathematical dependence of the lengths of the shoulder link and of the upper arm link on the elevation angle is developed in the form of a polynomial equation. The Elite system is used to obtain the 3D trajectories of the markers attached on the selected anatomical points during the elevation of the arm.
