Abstract     Controlled physical exercise brings numerous advantages to the patients with disease of the heart snd lung. Regular physical training results in more economic work of the heart, manifested by lower oxygen consumption in the heart muscle. After a training, patient is able to perform the equal work with lower heart rate and with lower arterial blood pressure. The distribution of cardiac output in peripheral circulation is more adequate, performance of respiratory muscles is enhanced, the incidence of venous thrombosis is reduced. Beneficial psychological effects of physical activity diminish danger for several complications in the course of chronic heart and lung disease. However, inadequate physical training can provoke sudden worsening of heart failure and cardiac ishemic manifestations. Arrhythmias are also imminent danger of excessive physical effort.
