Abstract		Invasive infections caused by fungi are becoming more and more important cause of death and illness in surgical units for intensive therapy (UIT). The number of patients with risk factors for development of invasive fungous infection is getting higher in modern medicine (severe basic illnesses, burnings, immunosupresion, the procedure of invasive medicine - total paraenteral nutrition, central venous catheters, antibiotics. In the seminar theme the epidemiology of fungous infections in surgical patients is shown. The factors of risk are analyzed in detail, the division of patients into the groups with higher risk is indicated and the diagnostic procedure when assume there is a systematic fungous infection. At the end there is a short description of fungous species that are the most frequent cause of systematic fungous infection in surgical UIT and UIT in general.
Summary		Intenzivne okužbe, ki jih povzročajo glive, postajajo v kirurških enotah za intenzivno zdravljenje (EIT) vse pomembnejši vzrok smrtnosti in obolevnosti. Število bolnikov z dejavniki tveganja za razvoj invazivne glivične okužbe se v sodobni medicini nenehno veča (hude osnovne bolezni, opekline, imunska oslabelost, postopki invazivne medicine - popolna parenteralna prehrana, centralni venski katetri, antibiotiki. V seminarski nalogi je prikazana epidemiologija okužb z glivami pri kirurških bolnikih, podrobneje so razčlenjeni dejavniki tveganja, nakazana je razdelitev bolnikov v skupine z večjim tveganjem in diagnostični postopek po katerem postopamo, ko sumimo, da gre za sistemsko glivično okužbo. Na koncu je še kratek opis vrst gliv, ki se pojavljajo kot najpogostejši povzročitelji sistemskih glivičnih okužb v kirurških in ostalih enotah intenzivnega zdravljenja (EIT).
