Abstract		Scientific resarch activity brings us constant joy oeing to new discoveries on the domain of diganostic and therapeutic procedures. On the other hand, an ever greater swing of alternative treatment methods od different diseases can be noticed. Some of them contribute to the improvement of health state; but they can be also inffective or can even worsen the condition. Alternative way of treatment can be a supplement to orthodox medicine if all the possibilities of known therapeutic procedures have been tried out or it there is a question of chronic diseases where alternative methods replace medicamentous therapy. Alternative methods should also take into account all hygienic rules resp. asepsis in the case of interventions into human body. Therapists with an adequate approach (timing, facilities, circumstances) reduce the risk for infections occurrence to the minimum equal to the one in classic treatment methods. A careless implementation of procedures can cause infections which present one of the risks for deterioration of patient's health state. Regarding of all the quoted, the health personnel is specially obliged to call attention to the risks and damages of individual alternative methods.
Summary		Znanstvenoraziskovalna dejavnost nas iz dneva v dan razveseljuje z novimi odkritji na področju diagnostičnih in terapevtskih postopkov. Ugotavljamo pa tudi vse večji razcvet alternativnih metod zdravljenja različnih bolezni. Nekatere med njimi prispevajo k izboljšanju zdravstvenega stanja stanja bolnika; lahko pa so brez učinka ali pa stanje celo poslabšajo. Alternativni način zdravljenja je lahko nadaljevanje uradne medicine, kadar so izčrpane vse možnosti znanih terapevtskih postpkov ali gre za kronična obolenja, pri katerih alternativne metode nadomeščajo medikamentno zdravljenje. Tudi za ivajanje alternativnih metod veljajo pravila higiene oz. aseptičnost postopkov, če gre za posege v človekovo telo. Terapevti s pravilnim pristopom (čas, kraj pripomočki, okoliščine) zmanjšajo tveganje za okužbe na minimum, ki je enak kot pri izvanaju klasičnih metod zdravljenja. Malomarno izvajanje postopkov lahko povzroči okužbe, ki predstavljajo eno od nevarnosti za poslabšanje zdravstvenega stanja bolnika. Zato smo predvsem zdravstveni delavci dolžni opozarjati na tveganja in škodljivost posameznih alternativnih metod.
