Abstract     The differences between the most popular sports activities in which men and women in Slovenia participate, are inceasing from year to year. Compared with the year 1991, in the year 1996 the ranking of eight most popular sports activities hasn't changed with men. Table tennis and cross country skiing aren't ranked among the first ten and were replaced by jogging and volley-ball. Since 1992 several changes have occured in the women's choice of sports activity. Tennis and volleyball are no longer among the first ten most prefered activities and were replaced by morning exercising and aerobics. The differences between "male" and "female" sports activities have also been increasing. Women as a rule prefer those forms of physical activity in which rhythmic and graceful movement can be experienced, the measurability of achievements is of no importance. Nevertheless, women's sport is becoming a constituent part of a higher uality of life.
