Abstract     Infections of the genital tract by human papillomaviruses (HPV) is asexually transmitted disease of increasing prevalence. There is now increasing evidenc ethat HPV play a role in the development of epithelial malignancies such as those of the uterine cervix and vulva in women and squamous cell carcinoma of penis in men. There are many clinical forms of HPV infections of the genital tract and it is not easy to recognize them all. Recurrence of the condyloma acuminatum is common with all presently used forms of therapy, probably owing to latent HPV infection in normal-appearing skin.
