Abstract     Skin manifestations in HIV-infected patients are usually of infectious origin, caused by aquired immunodeficiency. Fungal infections are very comon, mostly caused by Candida albicans. Some viruses as HSV1, HSV2, VZV and HPV are affecting the skin. Severe forms of well-known clinical pictures were observed. Bacterial agents cause pyodermias rare in adults, as well as other bacterial diseases. At least 1/3 of HIV infected persons have a positive syphilis serology, showing the importance of syphilis in these patients. The comonest noninfectious cutaneous complications of AIDS are seborrhoic dermatitis, xerosis and papulofollicular changes. Well-known is the connection of Kaposi sarkom and HIV infection. Some other malignant tumors as certain types of lymphomas, malignant melanoma and epithelial malignant tumors sem to be more or less connected with HIV.
