Abstract     Nongonococcal Urethritis/Cervicitis is acute inflammation not provoked by Neisseria gonorrhoeae, it is the most common clinical disorder among attenders of STD outpatient clinics. Most of the cases are due to sexually transmitted infections with bacteria, viruses, protozoas or yeasts, some are caused by mechanical or chemical irritations and in up to one third of cases the etiology is unknown. Following short description of clinical signs, symptoms and possible complications we mention the up-to-date recommended regimen of treatment. We support the opinion that patients with nongonococcal urethritis cervicitis should also be screened for syphilis and HIV, their sexual partners have to be examined an treated as well.
