Abstract     The main goal of our research was to establish the influence of clinoptilolite and De-Odorase on ammonia concentrations and odour emissions, emitted from poultry and pig production. Clinoptilolite is crystaline zeoline material, which acts as an absorbent and ionic excanger, and De-Odorase is a selected glycocompoonent of plant Yucca shidigera, Tested substances are usually added only to animal food, but we also treated litter surface and pig slurry. We measured microclimate, ammonia concentrations, odour concentrations and emissions. Odour emissions in the clinoptilolite-treated buildings inbroiler production were significantly lower (58%) (P<0.05) compared to the conrol building. Ammonia concentrations were lower by 11.8% with clinoptilolite treated broiler buildings. The average reduction inodour emission in the De-Odorase treated poultry buildings was also lower by 55% and a decrease of 23.4% inammonia concentrations was established in the poultry building treated by De-Odorase. Significantly lower (36%) (P=0.000) was reduction in De-Odorase treated pig prductin, while a 21.4% reduction in ammonia in De-Odorase treated pig building was statistically insignificant (P>0.05). Besides searching for different possibilities to reduce ammonia and odour emissions, we made a comparison of their absolute values. Mainly, we were interested in finding out if turkey-rearing farms have been more burdening for the environment than broiler production farms. For this purpose we monitored/analysed 4 broiler houses and 10 turkey houses and we measured ammonia concentrations and odour emissions. We established that the turkey-rearing farms represent a heavier burden to the environment regarding ammonia and odour emissions than broiler production. Furthermore, by using additives, we successfully reduced odour emissions in broiler production. (Abstract truncated at 2000 characters.)
Summary     V raziskavi smo ugotavljali vpliv klinoptilolita, kristalinčnega zeolitnega materiala, ki deluje kot absorbens inionski izmenjevalec, ter deodoraze kot sarsaponina oziroma selekcionirane glikomponente rastline Yucca shidigera na koncentracije amoniaka in neprijetnih vonjav v reji perutnine in prašičev. Obe preskušani spojini sta namenjeni dodajanju le živalskim krmilom, mi pa smo ju dodajali tudi nastilu perutnine in gnojevki prašičev, merili smo mikroklimo in koncentraije neprijetnih vonjav ter amoniaka. Pri uporabi klimoptilolita je bila v zreji perutine ugotovljena povprečno 58% statistično značilna (P=0,05) redukcija emisij (Ou/s) neprijetnih vonjav in 11,8% (P0,05) redukcija amoniaka, medtem ko je bila pri uporabi deodoraze ugotovljena 55% (P0,05) redukcija emisij (Ou/s) neprijetnih vonjav in 23,4% (P0,05) redukcija amoniaka. V raziskavi s prašiči smo pri uporabi deodoraze ugotovili izrazito značilno 36% (P=0,000) redukcijo emisij (Ou/s) neprijetnih vonjav in 21,43 neznačilno (P0,05) nižje znižanje koncetracij amoniaka. Zaradi pregleda nad stanjem emisij v perutninski proizvodnji smo izmerili amoniak inneprijetne vonjave še v 4 hlevih za zrejo brojlerjev in 10 za zrejo puranov. Emitiranje neugodnih vonjav iz hlevov s purani je bilo v povprečju višje kot iz reje brojlerjev. Iz prikazanih rezultatov bi se le stežka potrdila ali ovrgla teza, da je prašičerejska proizvodnja s stališča obremenjevanja okolja z neprijetnimi vonjavami bistveno večji emitent kot piščančja. Res je, da so prizrejiprašičev nekoliko višje koncentracije neprijetnih vonjev, vendar tudi v piščančji proizvodnji lahko občasno prihaja do visokih obremenitev, kar je razvidno tudi iz rezultatov naše raziskave. Pri redukciji neprijetnih vonjav je učinkovitejši klinoptilolit, pri redukciji amoniaka pa deodoraza.
