Abstract     In order to determine the life cycle of the cave cricket, Troglophilus neglectus Krauss, observations in the field were combined with rearing in the laboratory and with biometric measurements. The life cycle of the species T. neglectus is completed in two to two and a half years and is subdivided as follows: 7 - 8 months of embryonic development, 14 - 15 months nymphal period and 3 - 10 months of adult life. According to the hind femur length distrubiton there are seven to eight nymphal instars. Development strongly depends on environmental conditions, being seasonal with one generation starting each year.
