Abstract     The Introduction to my thesis gives a survey of different internal and external factors influencing the time and order of permanent-teeth growth as well as a description of the need for a research on the chronology of teeth growth with our population. The aim of my research was to determin the succession of teeth growth, the median time, the dynamics and intensity of permanent-teeth growth with each sex as well as the differences between the two sexes. The research covered 72.992 boys and 70.032 girls aged between 4 and 16 from all Slovenian regions, wich are included in the basis of data kept by the Information Center of Slovenian Health Security Institution. The basis of data was founded in 1984 and is supplemented yearly. In may research the data used are taken from the 1996 collection of data. The results of may thesis show the time of the beginning of dentition (with at least 5% of children) the development and the time of ending dentition (with at least 95% of children) of individual teeth in the lower and upper jaw. The research has shown the dentition starts and finishes earlier with girls than with boys. I have also noticed that earlyer cutting of individual teeth results in shorter period of growth, and consequently, shorter period to reach median age of growth. The determined parameters of individual teeth growth in this research could be used later in evaluation of possible changes in the growth and development of teeth with Slovenian population.
