Abstract		This one-month incidence study of psychiatric and-patients was performed as a part of a pan-European survey on psychiatric health service. All pateints, who were in July 1993 for the first time referred to out-patient clinic of the University Psychatric Clinic in Ljubljana were included. Numerous demographic, social and psychopathologic characteristics were recorded ??? the standadized questionnaire and ICD-10 diagnostic criteri. Data on present organization and capacities of out-patient psychiatric service in Slovenia are given. The twosided 95% confidence interval of incidence was calculated as an indicator of true incidence of psychiatric disorders. Findings are discussed and ??mpared to other measures of disease occurrence. Some proposals of further research are given.
