Abstract     Dentine from which electrolytes filling the dentinal tubules have been removed with a vacuum pump can be considered a dielectric with a frequency-independent dielectric constant 3' = 10.5. measurements on a sample of dentine have shown that value of the dielectric constant depends on the penetration of Ag+ ions from an aqueous solution of silver nitrate into the dentinal tubules. Studies performed to date indicate that electrolytic introduction of Ag+ ions into dentine is possible.
