Abstract		A system for the evaluation of work ability is presented. its basic data structure consists of three parts: a set of worker's health characteristics, a set of workplace's characteristics and a set of incompatibility ules that relates the former two sets. The incompatibility rules are segmented acording to the subsystems of worker's characteristics; the rules for every subsystem were proviedd by the relevant medical experts. The main goal of the system is to apply the rules to the characteristics of a specific worker and a specific workplace in order to identify possible incompatibilities. Furthermore, each of the incompatibilities is weighted with respectto its severity and the list of the incompatibilities is presented as the estimate of the work ability for the specified worker. The comparisonof the system's results with the results of the medical experts shows that the use of the system tends to improve the completeness of incompatibility evaluations as well as the consistency of the evaluations. As a result, the objectivity of work ability evaluations can increase.
