| Abstract | The paper discusses the present distribution of Carlina acanthifolia subsp. utzka (Hacq.) Meusel &Kaestner. The taxon's former and present distribution in the northwestern part of its range as well as the vegetation conditions at its sites were studied. After nearly hundred years the sites of this species were found again in Slovene and Croatian parts of Istria. It has been stated that in the former times the species used to be spread more to the east and north than nowadays. The author discusses the causes of sterility in the year 1996 and the causes of its reduced distrubution. | |
