Abstract		Background. Efficiency of treatment for children with solid tumors with metastases at presentation or with recurrent disease is rather bad with conventional treatment. More intensive treatment modalities with autologous stem cell rescue is in spotlight of current research. We report our experiences in autologous bone marrow transplantation in treatment of solid malignancies in four patients. Conclusions. Although almost 20 years after first attempts, except in treatment of metastatic neuroblastoma, superiority of this treatment in children with solid malignancies with had prognostic features is still not convincingly proved.
Summary		Izhodišča. Uspešnost zdravljenja otrok s solidnimi tumorji in zasevki oz. ponovitvijo bolezni je slaba. Zato intenzivno preučujejo načine zdravljenja s povečanimi odmerki kemoterapije s presaditvijo krvotvornih matičnih celic. Predstavljamo ta način zdravljenja pri pogostejših solidnih tumorjih otrok in pri štirih lastnih bolnikih. Zaključki. Čeprav je minilo že skoraj 20 let od prvih poizkusov, pa do danes še ni uspelo dokazati odločilnega pomena tega zdravljenja pri solidnih tumorjih otrok, razen pri nevroblastomu z zasevki.
