Abstract		The didactic lecture deals with common problems during electromyographical and electroneurographic studies. A special emphasis is put on handling unexpected findings which are not well explained by clinical signs and symptoms and on dealing with ambiguous neurophysiological findings which should lead to a strategy based on clinical differential diagnosis. The problems and clinical situations are outlined by examples taken from daily routine investigations.
