Abstract     Magnetoencephalography (MEG) maps brain electric currents, and allows localization of the brain areas activited by sensory stimuli or producing spontaneous brain activity. The identified sources can be overlaid on MR images of individual subjects. Modern MEG measurements may assist in tailoring individual therapies for neurosurgical patients. In addition, analysis of carefully selected patients may aid in unraveling the pathophysiology of neurological disorders, caused e.g., by stroke or encephalitis.
