Abstract     Packaging materials and other food contact materials influence health impeccability and quality of food. Mterials constituents must not be transfered to food in such a quantity as to endnger human health or change composition, smell, taste, colour or consistency of food. One among many problems of evaluating health impecability of food contact materials is the lack of standard methodology. The poster reports legislation covering coloured food contact plastics and standards for testing colour fastness of plastics. The problem of failure of colour fastness in the sample of plastic casing for meat produt is presented and simple method for such testing is described.
