Abstract     The purpose of this study is to present a computer system for estimation of the Health and Epidemiological Status of a patient with an acute fracture of the femoral neck before any sort of primary treatment of the injury. This status can be crucial for the rehabilitation process and the longterm clinical outcome after the treatment. The study was designed as retrospective and randomised. We studied 21 parameters that can comprise the Health and Epidemiological Status of the patient. The long-term clinical outcome was assessed by calculating the Harris hip score (pain, function, motion, and mobility). We have examined 30 patients who had had a fracture of the femoral neck and had been treated with either bipolar or total hip endoprosthesis. It was found that there exists positive correlation between the Health and Epidemiological Score and the Harriship score (r=0,39). The computer system will be used in every-day clinical practice.
