Abstract     New legislation regarding safety and health at work bring essential changes also in the field of enforceable regulations from that area. Thus, under process of implementation of European directives in the field of safety and health at work into our legislation, very important project is going on which encompasses very broad spectre of expert institutions and organizations. The Directive 89/391/ EEC represent measures that have the task to enhance the level of safety and health of workers at work. Therefore the Directive encompasses general principles for the protection from occupational hazards, for assuring good safety and health standards, for elimination of risk and other causes of accidents at work, for informing, counciling, and participation in accordance with national lawes and practices of individual states, and for training of workers and their representatives, as well as general directives for execution of this principles. This Directive is without prejudice to existing or future national and community provisions which are more favourable to protection of the safety and health of workers at work. The Direktive applies to all sectors of activity, both public and private ( industrial, agricultural, comercial, administrative, service, educational, cultural, leisure, etc.). Framework Directive 89/391/EEC is the most comprehensive and far reaching regulation concerning safety and health at work in European countries. The complex of regulations from this field also comprises directives that refer to physical, chemical, biological and other hazards, and is covered by other directives of EU. All of this represents a great amount of work that has to be done in the time of approximation to EU and founding of our legislation. (Abstracts truncated at 2000 characters)
