Abstract     We examined bacteriologicaly 40 sow cervical swabs on the presence of aerobic and microaerophilic causing agents of metritis. Six swabs were kontamined, and 1 sterile. From others we isolated Actinomyces pyogenes. Campylobacter lari, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Streptococcus hyicus, Streptococcus suis and Streptococcus uberis. Of 24 strains tested in disc diffusion test all were susceptible to amoxicilin with clavulanic acid and neomycin. MIC of amoxicilin with clavulanic acid was tested for 11 strains. Their MICs were 0.125 - 2 micro g/ml except for Proteus vulgaris, which was not inhibited even by 8 micro g/ml. Differences between strains of the same species indicate the necessity of testing susceptibility to antibacterial drugs before treatment.
