Abstract     In 1996 a thorough renovation of our evoked potentials system based on HP machinery and HP-Basic software was fund economically more grounded than further costly maintenance or even upgrading. As the analogue part of the system was of good quality, we decided to replace only the old processing unit and converters (ADC). The IBM PC technology was chosen allowing incroporation of the system into our local network, also. LabView was used as a programming tool for graphic designing of our new software. As previously, the programme is composed of several modules for various investigations, analyses, reports etc.; however, being technically superior and the new user interface being much more user friendly and flexible, the new system brought new quality and efficiency to our evoked potentials routine and research work. (For the latter, a special module was designed to allow transfer of the old dato to the new system, as well). From our laboratories data are now transferred to and stored in the server, thus enabling doctors to analyse them and make reports at local stations (PVs) in their own rooms. The registered and analysed evoked potentials, generally with their interpretation - e.e. as doctors report, are now printed out on a fast laser network printer rather than, previously, on slow local plotters.
