Abstract     The most challenging problem in care of patients with large area body surface burns is the lack of viable donor sites for wound closure. Presently, there is no ideal artificial skin substitute. The use of skin allografts has considerably improved treatment of patients with major burn wounds. This approach allows immediate burn wound closure after radical debridement. Additionally it serves as a moisture barrier and also decreases bactercidal invasion until the permanent coverage with autologous skin is achieved.
