Abstract     The Web is a very effective information access and presentation tool. The Web user interface is easy to use and is rapidly becoming more and more familiar to health care workers. Internet and intranet technologies for mission critical applications are available and are being deployed in health care enterprises. Hospital intranet Web groqth is happening at a rapid rate. Many hospitals are beginning to use the Web for internal communication, advertising, and research. These trends are creating the right envitonment for Web access to medical records. A personalized Web-based CPR provides authorized clinical users with improved access to medical information. Clinical users can access medical records quickly from a variety of Web-enabled networked terminals across the enterprise. The point and click interface is simple and does not require extensive user training. Personalized visualization of CPR information provides users with relavent information that is tailored for them and their existing networked terminals. The use of existing client terminals minimizes IT expenditure on client devices. Case-mix analysis and outcomes assessment functions also provide valuable new information to hospitals.
