| Abstract | In this paper, we present initial work on the design and implementation of a medical image information system. This system can be seen as a part of the next generation of hospital information systems that will include, besides medical text reports and images, quantitative data generated by image processing algorithms. This paper focuses onthe requiements and on a conceptual framework for the implementation of such a system. It also illustrates the major features of the system. The mainobjectives for the development of a medical image information system is to enable quick and efficient access to images using their content in order to increase the efficiency of diagnostic image interpretation. | |
