Abstract     Guided tissue regeneration is a modern method for the treatment of destroyed periodontal tissues. Aside from membranes, different biochemical mediators are used increasingly for the procedure. The author explains the role of of enamel matrix proteins (amelogenins in biochemical periodontal regeneration, describes the clinical application of amelogenin (Emdogain), in a female patient with 3rd degree furcation involvement in an upper first molar, and presents the initial experience of foreign authors with the use of Emdogain in one-and two-wall intrabony pockets.
