| Abstract | For the impression of a supragingival chafger preparation, which is preferable from a periodontal point of view but violates the aesthetic requirements, no retraction agents are used. To obtain an acceptable impression of a subgingival chamfer or a chamfer at the level of the free ginvival margin, temporary gingival tissue displacement is necessary. The purpose of this procedure is to maintain a dry inner sulcal surface, identify the exact finishing line and provide sufficient space for an adequate bulk of material between the tooth and the sulcal wall. These are essential prerequisites for obtaining an exat working cast. Temporary gingival tissue displacement should be a straumatic as possible. All types of soft tissue damage should be avoided. | |
