Abstract     On average 20% of patients, who have problems with neck pains, swell in the Orthopedic ambulance. The reason for it is the modern way of life and cause is the growth of chronical pains in back and neck. Women employed in production and administration present the highest precent of ill people (Kralj 1991). The studies have shown, that people who get ill are around 35-60 years old and 77% of them are women. On average the patients with cervical and cervicobrachial syndrom present 11% of the nuber of medical examinations in the ambulance at the Orthopedic clinic. The number of examinations is higher in spring and autumm (Srakar 1984). The speite of the big progress at healing the back pains, the number of patients increases from year to year, because of the stressful way of life, which also shows the statistic data. From 25 thousand annualy examined patients at the Orthopedic clinic in Ljubljana, more than half look for help exactely because of the back and neck pains (Kralj 1991).
