| Abstract | The author presents backpain as a frequent disorder in pregnancy. She reviews anatomic, functional and psychological changes occurring in pregnancy, and presents causes of backpain. The significance of Backpain School for pegnant women (Parent School) as well as ways of backpain management and pevention are emphasised. Special attention is given to physiotherapeutic treatment of pregnant women in the acute and chronic phases of backpain, and to the role of physiotherapists in the preand post-labour physical preparation. | |
