Abstract     Phagocytes provide one of the first lines of defence against invading microorganisms. Soccussful locomotion is fundamental to their function. Defective chemotaxis can be linked to intrisic cellular disorders or to humoral disorders, such as chemotactic factor inhibitors, defective generation of chemotactic factors, or lack of factors necessary for locomotor function. A variety of techniques have been developed to assess chemotactic activity. In our experiments we used a modified Boyden chamber to show the chemotactic function of phagocytes isolated from peripheral blood of healthy volunteers. The same method was used to determine the chemotactic activity of various substances, such as muramil dipeptide or Borrelia antigen. The mean value of the chemotactic index of healthy volunteers was calculated and the chemotactic activity of Borrelia antigen and muramil dipeptide was ascertained.
Summary     Fagocitne celice so del primarne obrambe pred mikroorganizmi. gibanje je ena od funkcij fagocitnih celic in je nujno za njihovo delovanje. Okvare kemotakse nastanejo na celičnem nivoju ali pa so posledica navzočnosti inhibitorjev kemotaktičnih dejavnikov ali motenj pri nastanku kemotaktičnih dejavnikov ali pomanjkanja dejavnikov, ki so potrebni za gibanje. Kemotaktično aktivnost merimo z več tehnikami. Pri naših preskusih smo uporabljali filtersko metodo z modificirano Boydenovo komoro. Ugotavljali smo kemotaktično odzivnost fagocitnih celic zdravl prostovoljcev, kemotaktično aktivnost muramil dipeptida in borelijskega antigena. Izračunali smo povrečno vrednost kemotaktičnega indeksa pri zdravih prostovoljcih ter potrdili kemotaktičnost muramil dipeptida in borelijskega antigena.
