Abstract		In the study we reviewed the randomly selected health records of 10,723 children and adolescents from 12 primary and 6 secondary schools in the Maribor region. Only 6.256 of these children and adolescents (58.3%) had their personal doctor at our dispensary and only these records were available to us. In this population we found 913 (14.6%) injuries during the period between 1 January and 31 December 1996. The article presents the incidence of injuries by diagnosis, cause, localisation and the severity of the injury and the place of occurrence. it also shows comparisons by sex, age, type of school, month of the injury, duration and level of treatment, and points out the importance of preventive programmes aimed at the detected risk groups of children and adolescents.
Summary		V raziskavi sva pregledali naključno izbrane zdravstvene kartone 10.723 otrok in mladostnikov iz 12 osnovnih in 6 srednjih šol mariborske regije. Samo 625 otrok (58,3%) je imelo izbranega osebnega zdravnika v našem dispanzerju in samo v te kartone sva imeli vpogled. Pri teh sva v obdobju od 1.1. do 31.12.1996 ugotovili 913 poškodb (14,6%). V članku je prikazana incidenca poškodb po diagnozi, vzroku, lokalizaciji in teži poškodb in kraju dogodka. Prikazane so tudi prmerjave po spolu, starosti, vrsti šole, mesecu poškodbe, trajanju in ravni zdravljenja. Poudarjen je pomen preventivnih programov glede na ogrožene rizične skupine otrok in mladostnikov.
