Abstract		The article presents the results of research into the popularity of smoking, drinking alcohol and drug use among primary school children. During the academic year 1996/97 we conducted a survery of addiction at the school dispensary in Sežana, with pupils of the last classes of primary school sin Sežana, Dutovlje, Divača and hrpelje. We discovered that 8,3% were smokers and 6,2% drank alcoholic beverages. We traced first contact with drugs in the real sense; as many as 6% of the children had been offered drugs. Through several years of monitoring the addiction trend and with organised health eduction in workshops at primary schools we aim to verify the efficiency of this form of preventive work.
Summary		Prispevek predstavlja rezultate raziskave o razširjenosti kajenja, pitja alkohola in uživanja drog med osmošolci. V šolskem letu 1996/97 smo v šolskem dispanzerju Sežana izvedli anketo o zasvojenosti med učenci zaključnega razreda osnovne šole v Sežani, Komnu, Dutovljah, Divači in Hrpeljah. Ugotovili smo 8,3% kadilcev in 6,2% pivcev alkoholnih pijač. Zasledili smo prva okušanja droge v ožjem pomenu besede, saj so jo 6% že ponudili. Z večletnim spremljanjem gibanja zasvojenosti ob organiziranem zdravstvenovzgojnem delu v obliki delavnic na osnovnih šolah, bomo testirali uspešnost te oblike preventivnega dela.
