Abstract		Flexible bronchoscopy is the most cammonly used invasive investigation in the diagnosis of pulmonary disorders. The most frequent indications include suspected pulmonary malignant growth in adults, and foreign body in children. Today, approx. one-third of bronchoscopies are done primarily to obtain specimens needed for further investigations. The predictive value of sampling is frequently overestimated and the real cost-benefit value of the method is low. To ensure the required quality, particularly the patient's satisfaction, all data and circumstances should be evaluated moticulously before embarking on the investigation.
Summary		Bronhoskopija z upogljivim instrumentom je najbolj pogosto uporabljana invazivna preiskava v pnevmologiji. Pri odraslem je najpogostejša indikacija sum na malignom, pri otrocih pa tujek. Do 1/3 preiskav je opravljenih predvsem zaradi odvzema diagnostičnega materiala. Pri tem je napovedna vrednost odvzetega materiala pogosto precenjena, kar negativno vpliva na ekonomičnost posega. Zagotavljanje kakovosti, predvsem zadovoljstva bolnika, narekuje skrbno pretehtanje vseh okoliščin, preden se odločimo za poseg.
