Abstract | Background. The capability of performing work depends on many factors. In this review we analyzed the most important ones, the level of arousal, circadian rhythms, and sleep. We summarize that sleep deprivation critically affects mental functions, whereas physical capacity only exceptionally. An analytical model describing the influence of circadian rhythm on the work performance is followed, including a theoretical concept with a few solved problems in comparison with the contemporary empirical findings. We also described some problems regarding circadian phase changes connected with the long haul fight operations and added methods for aceleration of circadian adaptation. Conclusions. Finally we summarize physiological reasons in which the workshift is particularly inefficient. | |
Summary | Izhodišča. Sposobnost opravljanja dela je odvisna od mnogih dejavnikov. Opisali smo najpomembnejše med njimi, to je stopnjo vzdraženosti, cirkadiani ritem in spanje. Povzemamo, da pomanjkanje spanja bistveno prizadene mentalne funkcije, le izjemoma zmanjša telesne zmogljivosti. Sledi analitični model za analizo vpliva cirkadianega ritma na pripravljenost za delo, ki vsebuje teoretični koncept z nekaj rešenimi primeri in s primerjavo s sodobnimi empiričnimi ugotovitvami. Opisali smo še nekatere probleme po spremembi lokalnega časa pri dolgih mednarodnih poletih in končno našteli metode za pospeševanje adaptacije na nov cirkadiani ritem. Zaključki. V zaključku povzemamo fiziološke razloge za razmere, kdaj so premiki delovnega časa posebej neučinkoviti. | |
