Abstract     The analysed material included palmprints of 86 potencional families (mother, potencional father, children) with 87 children. The following dermatogliphic characteristia of the palm were analysed in order to establish the associations between family members and as a best measure in a research of genetic relatedness: termination of main line D, C, B and A; number and position of axial triradii; configurations in hypothenar, in thenar/I. interdig. area, in II., III. and IV. interdig. areas. In regard to HI square test were determined these dermatoglyphic caracteristics of the palm as a best measure of genetic relatedness: termination of main line B; number and position of axial triradii; configurations in thenar/I. interdig. area and in II. interdig. area. These four features also showed the strongest parent-offspring association. There was, however, no convinsing tendency for such associations to be stronger in the father-child than in the mother-child comparison.
